How to order

This DVD is in five sections:
The first features 22 minutes on board the "Stampede Pass Daylight" with the SP 4-8-4 #4449 in 'Daylight' colors, including 2 photo runbys during the two day June 1997 Portland, Yakima Washington, Portland circular tour via Stampede Pass. Part two contains 24 minutes of trackside action with the #4449 in American Freedom Train livery during the March 2002 Portland to Bend Oregon excursion, with a brief tour of the cab. Part three (19 minutes) shows the December 2002 excursion and charity events with the Southern Pacific 4-6-2 #2472. Static cab views are followed by on-train and trackside sequences during the San Francisco to Redwood City trip. The 'Silver Solarium' dome observation sleeper (built for the 'California Zephyr') is also featured, before we catch the night-time action during the Bay Area Christmas fund raising events.
Part four is a 14 minute interview (held onboard a Durango and Silverton excursion train) with a retired Southern Pacific dispatcher who talks about his working life looking after train movements on the SP. Finally, a selection of other SVS Film DVDs are previewed including 'Standard in Sussex', 'Challenger of Tour 2003', 'Chama to Cumbres Pass - a Steam Classic', 'Fall Cab Ride to Cumbres', 'Three Seasons at Durango' and 'Ride the Milwaukee Road with 261'.

Technical details: 4449 Stampede Pass footage was filmed in Hi8 video, now digitally remastered. Most of the Portland to Bend AFT 4449 footage was previously featured in the SVS Film 2003 VHS tape/DVD "4449 Portland to Bend, Oregon". The whole DVD has stereo sound throughout. Informative maps and narration are included.
